Martin Baer seinen Dokumentarfilm „Befreien Sie Afrika!“ vor, der die Geschichte des deutschen militärischen Engagements in Afrika von 1940 bis heute erzählt. Gleichzeitig zeigt er in zahlreichen Ausschnitten, wie sich das Afrikabild der Deutschen durch deutsche Medien über die Jahrzehnte hinweg entwickelt hat. (Berlin, 8.11.2001)

On 7/8 July 2001 in the Bali-Cinema in Berlin-Zehlendorf AfricAvenir presented its first Filmfestival reflecting the diversity of African cinematographic creation rarely accessible to a German public.
