AfricAvenir Dialogue Forum
Dialogue Forum is an expression coined and often used by AfricAvenir. We use it to describe an in-depth dialogical process on a certain topic, including various forms of presentation, dialogue and expression. A Dialogue Forum can last for two hours or it can last a month or more.

In February 2003, a 2-weeks Dialogue Forum was organised between a group of European therapists and their Cameroonian counterparts in modern and traditional African medicine.
On 19/20 November 2002 and in coperation with the Centre National de Développement de l’Informatique de Douala (CENADI), AfricAvenir organised a workshop on “The Internet as a tool of communication, information and scientific research in Africa”. Target groups were the so-called multiplicators in the civil services, the press, teachers and students but also musicians and artists. [More]
On 24/25 October 2002, AfricAvenir in cooperation with the Goethe Institute in Yaoundé organised a national conference on “The Implementation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) - What Implications for National Policies and International Cooperation?” Both Government officials, civil society representatives and the media took part. In May 2002, in cooperation with GTZ and during a whole month, AfricAvenir organised a Dialogue Forum on the African Renaissance in the face of HIV/Aids, including scientific conferences, African palavers, film screenings, round tables, information sessions and trainings. [More]
In february 2002, a group of eight students from the Political Science Department of the Free University of Berlin took part in a study trip to Cameroon. The group was led by Prof. Kum’ a Ndumbe III, Prince Bell and taken care of by Ekum’a Mbella ‘Bwelle. During four weeks they explored and analysed the conflict prevention capacity and efficiency of development cooperation, talking to both local and foreign actors. [More]

From May to July 1996, an AfricAvenir team headed by Prof. Kum’ a Ndumbe III (with Stefan Jansen and Aline Beta) was sent to Rwanda in order to recommend ways in which conflict prevention mechanisms could be integrated into future GTZ development projects. The study was commissioned by the GTZ itself. Inspired by the African palavers held on different topics in Cameroon, the AfricAvenir team developed an integrative and holistic approach including workshops, seminars, popular theater, dance and African palavers.
Through an agreement between AfricAvenir and the German Heinrich Böll Foundation in 1995, three seminars and 18 African palavers were organised on “Democratisation, Decentralisation and Ethnicity in a Democratic System” in Douala, Yaoundé and in different villages. Officially opened by the German ambassador, the Dialogue Forum was later over-shadowed by police threats to forbid the conference. [More]
